Effective Strategies For Engaging Youth With Co-Occurring Disorders

Course Description:

This workshop will explore of some of the more significant aspects of Co-occurring disorders among adolescents. The relationship between chemical use, abuse and dependency and the occurrence of other mental health disorders will be reviewed. The importance of understanding this relationship and its complex connection to effective screening, assessment, diagnosis and treatment will also be explored. Examples of effective engagement techniques and treatment activities will be presented and discussed.

This four week course requires 8 hours of work over its duration.
