| Course Description:
Assuming a basic understanding of addictions theory and intervention, the course will focus on a review of theoretical models of interpersonal violence and their related interventions. A review of current research linking the two major social issues will be provided. The knowledge developed from this research base will provide a framework for discussing the implications for effective interventions involving systems (substance abuse treatment, courts and intervention programs) as well as individual and group interventions for offenders. This five week course requires 10 hours of work over its duration. |
