Brenda Westberry, is a retired Chief Adult Probation Officer for the State of Connecticut Judicial Branch. She has over 21 years experience in the field of Criminal Justice working with substance abuse treatment agencies and key community organizations while servicing diverse criminal justice populations. Brenda is a professor in the Sociology, Social Work and Applied Sciences Department at Eastern Connecticut State University as well as an adjunct professor at Mitchell College in the Criminal Justice Department. Brenda has been teaching at the collegiate level for the past 15 years where she has taught courses such as, The Criminal Justice System, Victimology, Correctional Classification and Treatment, Human Services, Probation and Parole, Violence in Relationships, Cultural Diversity and Sociology. Brenda is a faculty member of the New England School of Addiction Studies and the Advanced New England School of Best Practices where she has taught workshops on topics such as, Advanced Motivational Interviewing, Case Planning and Integrated Assessments, Women Offenders, Post Release Life for Offenders leaving Corrections and Verbal Intervention Strategies for the Helping Professional. Brenda is a current member of the American Association of University Professors, American Society for Training and Development and the American Correctional Association. Brenda holds a Masters’ Degree in Sociology and a Bachelors’ degree in Justice and Law Administration. |
