Laura A. Saunders, MSSW is a Senior Counseling Manager in the Department of Family Medicine at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health and an independent consultant. Ms. Saunders is a member of the international network for Motivational Interviewing trainers (MINT). Her research, teaching, and publications reflect her longstanding interest in helping persons with alcohol and drug use disorders. She has practiced and taught Motivational interviewing for over 18 years. She also provides in person training and ongoing coaching to health care, human service and criminal justice practitioners throughout the US. One of her most exciting opportunities was sharing MI with physicians and nurses in Hai Phong, Vietnam.
