1. Understand the potential health risks associated with alcohol use for persons with HIV.

2. Recognize the potential specific impacts of alcohol use on HIV treatment outcomes.

3. Develop protocol for routine screening as part of outpatient care visits.

4. Perform a brief assessment and intervention as part of an outpatient care visit.
