Laura A. Saunders, MSSW
Laura A. Saunder, MSSW is a Senior Counseling Manager in the Department of Family Medicine at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. Ms. Saunders is a member of the international network for Motivational Interviewing trainers (MINT). Her research, teaching, and publications reflect her longstanding interest in helping persons with alcohol and drug use disorders. She has practiced and taught Motivational interviewing for over 15 years. Currently, Ms. Saunders trains and monitors the clinical practice of eighteen health educators who deliver services for the Wisconsin SBIRT project, Wisconsin Initiative to Promote Healthy Lifestyles (WIPHL). She also provides in person training and ongoing coaching to health care and human service practitioners throughout the Midwest. She was recently invited by Pathfinders, International to train physicians in Vietnam.
