This is a FREE training

The Addiction Technology Transfer Center of New England, funded by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), Center for Substance Abuse Treatment (CSAT) in colaboration with the Brown University Distance Learning Program, is offering a credited, on-line course on treatment planning MATRS.

Have you ever wondered how to transform all that required paperwork into clinically useful information? The goal of this training is to "marry" the assessment and treatment planning processes in order to create individualized treatment plans. The Treatment Planning MATRS curriculum was designed by the National Institute of Drug Abuse (NIDA) and the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) Center for Substance Abuse Treatment (CSAT) as part of The Blending Initiative, seeking to encourage and aid in the use of evidence-based practices by professionals. It provides the participant with the opportunity to learn how to extract valuable information from assessment tools in order to develop individualized problems statements, goals, objectives, and interventions, which can ultimately lead to improved client retention and better outcomes. While this course uses the Addiction Severity Index (ASI) as a guide for applying these techniques, they can be applied to other forms of assessment as well. Administering and scoring the ASI is not part of this training, nor is prior training in these areas a prerequisite of this course.
